What is Safetyvis in virtual production?

With safety being paramount in this field, Safetyvis has become an essential part of any successful project. It’s a specialized form of techvis designed to test out safety precautions for complex shots, action design, and on-set mitigation procedures. 

The primary purpose of safetyvis is to ensure that both cast and crew are kept safe during a production. Safetyvis is an additional layer of protection when protecting crew from hazardous conditions such as stunt work or explosions. The process helps identify potential hazards before they arise and then puts protocols in place to mitigate them. This means fewer surprises and mistakes on set. 

Safetyvis is overseen by Production Managers who oversee the safety strategy throughout pre-production, production, and post-production. Working closely with the technical team, they develop strategies and protocols around the effects and stunts used during filming. They also review risk assessment forms and accident reports submitted by other departments so that appropriate steps can be taken in response.
