What is Acquisition team in virtual production?

The VAD team responsible for the world/reality capture of real-life locations and textures via photogrammetry, Lidar, photography and other methods. See also building team.

This team can consist of one or various members specialized in reality or world capture and other methods.

The Virtual Art Department transforms designs and digital renderings into 3D replicas. This way, the production team can visualize how the final show will appear and react, even before the production itself.

The VAD works with almost every part of the crew, such as the director, cinematographer, production designers, and more, to make sure the digital worlds are in line with the vision of the creative team.
