What is Volume variant in virtual production?

A volume variant is simply a variation on a given volume load or physical set configuration, which can be due to desired changes in the appearance or camera position. This is an important aspect of virtual production because it allows filmmakers to quickly switch up the environment they are filming in without having to start from scratch. By creating multiple variants of the same scene, directors can save time while also exploring different angles and perspectives with relative ease.

Each variant would have a slight change in setup such as changing furniture placement or adjusting lighting levels but both versions still maintain the same overall look.
